Has anyone ever kited False Bay on San Juan Island? If so, what was your experience? It looks like it could be a nice flatwater spot at the right tide, I'm wondering if the wind is gusty there unless it is from the perfect direction though. Are there any hazards once out and riding?
Any insight is appreciated!

From what I have heard it is a very specific wind direction as it has to come right through the opening from the straights, but otherwise kiteable. I think it is a pretty advanced launch, from what I have seen (I have not done it). I would say try it but use ultra caution and have fun.

Thanks for the reply Eric. It looks like a due southerly or a little bit of southwesterly are the only directions that will really work in the bay. I'll check it out next time we're up there and report back!
