THURSDAY NIGHT RACES AT MAGGIE

We've been brainstorming a way to grow our local race fleet here in the Seattle area. We are going to just toss some marks out and have informal races for anyone who wants to have some fun. Not an event and ride at your own risk. Many of you have invested the money into a nice race board. If you all want to get together and have a few go arounds for some beers that would be great. Good luck and stay posted to this thread as we all look at the forecasts and see what will work. I'm thinking we can do this once the Fall Southerlies start to pump. It should be convenient for us just to hop out there and race. There wont be a support boat so if you want to come play with us, be accountable.

Floor is open for discussion on ways to run this so everyone can get involved and have fun. Anything to add anyone?

Nice to see you guys came up with this great idea! It will be great to have some fun competition, with great prizes, and happening during the fall and winter season, when we have great winds!

Would there be a benefit for having the races on the weekend instead of Thursday?

Some kiters wanting to race may have a hard time making it to Magnuson in time due to work, late in the day, traffic.....kiting an earlier session elsewhere ! Unless Thursdays become a Kite Racing "I'm sick....I can't come to work" Day!

I am willing to help out with certain aspects of the race.

We are done with the Thursday practices but will repost again when we resume training sessions. The whole racing community is pretty rocked right now with the latest unfoldings from IKA and the Olympic committee.
