the Squamish summer race series kicks off this weekend.

This is meant to be an 'everyone welcome' sort of series, from beginner to expert. So if you're looking for a chance to give racing a shot, it's a pretty friendly crowd up here.

Honestly it looks like the weather could go either way at this point, but we don't need perfect conditions to race.

Then check this link for positive temp gradients between Vancouver and Lillooet (the squamish reading doesn't matter). More gradient = more wind. http://wind.altoning.com/temp

I'm thinking about coming up for the race this weekend. Can you update this thread when you have a better idea of the forecast (would make my decision to go by early saturday morning)

well... looks like we'll have some sort of wind. just bring all of your kites.
Saturday for sure. Sunday (race day) looks a bit sketchier, but the gurus up here say it'll likely go. It'll be cancelled by 8am sunday if required though.

We basically race everyday anyways though. So Saturday will be just as fun. We leave a permanent course and there are enough people up here that we just sync our watches and give'r.
