BOD, thanks for posting the response from Christopher Williams, Acting Superintendent of the Seattle Parks and Recreation department.
It's good to see the involvement from kiteboarding enthusiasts of PSKite (alluded to in the email list of responders), and to know that Puget Sound Kiteboarding Association is a recognized community constituent by the statement that, "Seattle Parks and Recreation is committed to ensuring that any future planting projects do not hinder access to the longstanding launch area."
The saying that 'actions speak louder than words' is of importance, such that vigilance by the kiteboarding community continues so that encroachment does not happen again.
