Got my hands on the new Trip this year it's in sizes 8,10,12 -- been riding the 12m form 12mph to 30 crazy range been out in the gorge for a couple weeks and so far the trip will still trip you out - huge boost - monster range, huge low end, loops great not quite as fast as the 10 but very fast for a 12m, goes upwind very well better than my parks.........

Overall looks like a one kite quiver summer again for me love the trip --- and all you JI peeps that saw me kite in basically no wind last summer on the 10m trip - the 12 has way more low end - not only will I be kiting in those sub12mph but will be able to throw down too....:)

If your traveling the trips pack down to almost nothing - the pack is smaller the a preschool backpack

Jeffrow should have one on JI for demo

And all you waves fanatics the brand New Naish Pivot will be released tomorrow - check it out

OK, so I work at Urban Surf & am partial to Naish kites. That being said:

I demoed the new blue Naish Trip 10M (with Alana line set) in light 10-12kt North winds at Golden Gardens. I was riding a regular twin tip and a surfboard throughout the session. Thanks to Bart E for letting me take her for a spin.

I didn't have extra power, but was able to ride & stay way more upwind than the other riders.

Two nights later I rode my 2014 Naish Park and was weirded out by how big it felt and the time it took to loop.

LOL the Trip actually "tripped" me out & makes me think: do I need that 14M? (especially now since there is also a 12M trip).

No BS, the 10M Trip is a Sweet kite & I'm going to get one for a few reasons.

Dude.
You are tripping out my quiver man.
I am thinking of the 8m to add to my 12m Park just to really get things trip'n cause I hear the range is HUGE!

Trip out on the 12m at Jetty .... Hit me up for a demo, if I'm not on it!
Naish crew rolling through 7/16-17 may be at Jetty if conditions are on!

The 12m trip has replaced my 15m fly - that's how much low end power this kite has - turns faster goes upwind sharper and will fly is crazy light wind I'm 205+ :) you really need to demo the trip it will trip you out ---- and they are cheap - pack down to a baby pack crazy small --- hit Jeffro up or me - I'll be in the gorge his week and next

You guys gonna be there today? I'd love to back-to-back compare it against my fat lady.

If this ends up happening let me know the outcome I have been curious about the comparison myself.

I'm really on the fence about going today. I'm leaning towards not making the trek. Forecast isn't strong enough. :(

This thread reminds me of the famous quote amongst motorheads:

There is no substitution for displacement.

Sure you can crank out a ton of horsepower from a little 4 banger but does it ever really reach the point of competing with a well built V8?

I think Loki has the ride idea. If you need me I'll be out on my 17m ;)

Ok here is fact last year at JI the fat lady and 17 fly surfer could not get off the beach while I was on a 10m trip out kiting - the 12m trip is not a small 12 -------- you really need to ride one - then you will under stand

You will shake your head - that makes no spence but strut less kites generate way more power per meter

And bonus lets see you relaunch that 17m in barely a breeze when it falls out of the sky ----the Naish trip flys with barely a breeze - and even relaunches easier in light wind.

Bonus # 2 the trip tracks upwind extremely well as proven in 6hour kb4c :)

BONUS #3 It's way cheaper to purchase new than any other 14 -15- 17m kite on the market almost 1/2 off compared to others
