just finished up a rack system to hopefully get me to jetty when the ferry starts running.
i get to poach the HOV lane now.
will be very useful getting to the closer in city beaches more than anything.
no more parking issues at GG when it's packed!

killer idea! Nice V-Rod too. I used to have a Virago 750 when I was in school. Seeing this makes me miss riding

Hopefully that board doesn't cause any weird aerodynamics issues on the freeway. let us know how it works out 8-)

Eclipse? Thought you went Helix?
And where's Cabo gonna sit?

I've taken this bike on the road and had it up to 70 mph with the board on it. seems to vibrate a little, but not too concerning.
will try it with the kite bag attached and a secondary webbing strap to lesson the flex. I've had this bike since 2004 and hardly ride it due to I'm always needing to haul kite gear.
I think this setup will encourage me to ride it a little more now.

kip,
I still have the 14m eclipse thruster, which I am still enjoying riding up at jetty.
I have some 2009 naish helix kites in smaller sizes and need to save some more pennies before I get a new 14m.

and cabo, no room so he's gonna stay at home!

Jim,
Dan Tuna had a setup similar to this for his runs from Tacoma.

1982 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk

I rode this down to the Gorge last summer. Coming into Rufus from the North was a bit sketchy with the crosswinds on the road. In the box: harness, pump, wetsuit, sleeping bag, beer, food, 2 kites, and 1 board.

its so nice to ride in the HOV lane...

wow Dan! that's quite the setup. I'd imagine your rear spring is probably pretty loaded up with all that gear sitting on it. I had an old 81 Honda CM400T for awhile and loved that bike. it had a 2 into 1 exhaust that sounded like crap when I first got the bike so I chopped the muffler off and put a harley sportster muffler on instead. made the thing sound kinda like a ducati. those 400 and 450cc inline twins were great engines.

so did you build the box and ferring? how's it handle loaded up?

Not exactly kite rigs but these were the two bikes I used to own. they were supposed to be his & hers bikes but that relationship didn't exactly work out :?

Ended up selling them to fund some kiting gear actually 8-) that and my parents basically thought it was only a matter of time before I got killed riding so I decided to take up a much safer hobby and save them the stress of loosing their baby boy. Can anybody guess what that much safer hobby was? I'll give you a hint, it starts with "k" and sounds like iteboarding.
