Jetty Wind sensor seems to be way off

Postby patricklaidlaw » Tue May 09, 2017 12:40 pm

Hey how accurate would everyone say the Jetty Island public sensor is. Every time i've been to Jetty and then looked at the sensor it seems like its between 5 and 10 mph off. The only time I think it might be accurate is when the wind is below 5mph.

The pskite owned and operated wind sensor on Jetty Island appears to be online, but is not fully functioning with accurate readings.

Roberto Soza is working now on getting it up and running correctly.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to Roberto and all others who have made this wind sensor happen!

Not sure everyone realizes this, but Roberto (supported also by others) has spent countless volunteer hours on this project.

Roberto didn't get a chance to get the sensor up and running last week but will so in the coming days. The reading on the JI sensor that you currently see is off as it picks up a signal from another sensor. This should be fixed soon thanks to Roberto's help.

As of this morning the sensor is back on on Jetty and reporting wind conditions!
