PSKITE Fall/Halloween Party

Postby Globekiter » Fri Sep 30, 2016 3:21 pm

Get stoked for the PSKITE Fall/Halloween Party on October 29th!

RSVP here -

It’s time for the community to come together to celebrate a fantastic Summer season and get stoked for Fall and Winter kiting! We have space reserved for our party again at Elliott Bay Brewing (12537 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA) and we are working hard on getting our sponsors for the raffle lined up. There will once again be some fantastic prices from our generous sponsors! Stay tuned! Remember, this is not only a party to have fun together off the water but it is also fundraiser to support programs such as the DB and Jetty Island wind sensors, future events, etc. Please bring some cash for the raffle!

At the event we’ll thank the previous PSKITE Board for their contributions and discuss the new community work stream, brainstorm ideas, and get volunteers signed up. And yes, there will be light snacks provided by PSKITE!

Since the date for the party falls on Halloween weekend we are making costumes optional! They are highly encouraged! You may even show up in your wetsuit if you wish to go as a kiteboarder :-) .

Please invite your family and friends and share the event on Facebook and other social media often over the coming weeks! The more of a turnout we have the better. New people are especially encouraged to come as this is an excellent forum to get to know others and learn more about the sport, see the passion, and feel the stoke!

PSKITE Fall / Halloween Party Sat 10/29/16

An Opportunity to Make A Difference!!!

Kiteboarding Friends!

I synced up with some of your fellow kiteboarders and the idea was sparked to take tomorrow’s PSKITE Fall / Halloween Party as an opportunity to collect unused / slightly broken Kiteboarding gear that’s sitting around your garage and bring it so we can donate it to less privileged folks who can still get some use out of the gear or can repair it and get inspired by the passion and amazing benefits of Kiteboarding!

Whether helping some kids or young adults locally or in Brazil to keep them off drugs, out of trouble, empower them, teach them self-confidence, or feel the healing power of the elements … WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! We are very fortunate to be able to do what we do here in the Pacific NW, let’s share some that with others who could use a little help!

We don’t have any specific plans yet, but our friend Claudiu Barbura is currently in Brazil and sent us a message. He saw what is needed and can be done with used, even broken gear to change someone’s life. We are not suggesting it has to go to Brazil, but the need exists in a lot of places and we can collect gear for a local cause closer to home including raising funds for the annual KB4C (if it can be sold) and / or other cause here or across borders!

Thanks for you gear donation in advance!

Here are a few more things to note for tomorrow’s event:
Please remember this is a fundraiser. What we can do with the funds will depend on how much we can raise.

1) Bring CASH for the raffle!!!
2) Wear a costume or something funny if you want to. Costume optional, but highly encouraged, especially Pumpkin Heads! (Robert Redman)
3) There will be sticky notes for you to write down your thoughts, ideas, what you want PSKITE do over the next year, etc. as well as a sign-up sheet for you to be a volunteer and offer your skills, expertise, enthusiasm, or simply your passion!
4) We have ordered some appetizers for all of us to share!
5) Bring your STOKE!
